Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately, processing cash, credit, and debit transactions.
- Handle cash registers with strict accuracy, balancing drawers at the end of every shift.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, locate items, and provide detailed product information.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and store aisles to meet company standards.
- Bag merchandise efficiently and assist with carry-out services when necessary.
- Report inventory discrepancies and alert management of any potential security issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is a plus but not required (training provided).
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to handle cash transactions with high accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, outgoing demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
