Responsibilities
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Greet customers immediately and provide friendly, helpful service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Handle cash, credit, and check payments, ensuring the cash drawer is balanced at the end of every shift.
- Assist customers with locating products, answering inquiries, and processing returns or exchanges according to company policy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area and sales floor.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stocking shelves when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure store operations run smoothly during peak hours.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or as a cashier is preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to handle cash transactions with high accuracy.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with POS software.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
